Branch prefix & synchronization process

This page shows the following operations related to branch prefix and a synchronization process.

On the project setting screen, click [Branch prefix & synchronization process].

You can configure the settings for a branch prefix and a synchronization process on the screen below.

1.Branch name prefix setting function

On the [Branch prefix & synchronization process] screen, enter [Branch name prefix] and click the [Save] button.

This allows you to set a prefix to be added to a branch name when creating a GitLab repository branch from a Jira ticket screen.

2.Merge request/issue description function

On the [Branch prefix & synchronization process] screen, set both the [Merge Request description] and [Issue description] to ON.

When you turn them ON, you can insert the source Jira ticket URL into the [Merge Request]/[Issue] description fields.

However, if this function is enabled in a project that uses the GitLab template, there will be the following restrictions:

  • [Merge Request]: The template is used. (The Jira URL is not inserted.)

  • [Issue]: The template is overwritten with the Jira URL inserted.

3.Manual synchronization settings

By clicking [Sync right now] or [Sync All] from [Action] on the [Branch prefix & synchronization process] screen, you can manually synchronize the information of a specific GitLab project to be integrated.

Differences between [Sync right now] and [Sync all]

  • [Sync right now]: Performs incremental synchronization. It synchronizes with a target project that has been updated within the past 15 minutes.

  • [Sync all]: This is full synchronization and synchronizes with all projects that can be accessed by the GitLab machine user. It also updates the synchronization target project list.

For details, see "Synchronization", "full synchronization", and "integrated projects list" .

If information is not synchronized with Jira when a new GitLab project is created, perform [Sync all].
